Headfuck Permission Post

Given Ardyn's tendency towards messing with people and the fact that he wasn't even supposed to BE here today, I have no doubt that he's going to use what limited abilities he has at one point or another to try and headfuck someone: be you inmate or warden (no discrimination here!), he doesn't really care.

ETA: Anything he does with illusions is going to be HEAVILY discussed first. Characters might do things 'out of the blue' to fuck with people, but I personally find it's a lot more fun to make sure everyone's on board with a situation like that to create scenes that people all find interesting as opposed to just whole hog fucking with folks. HE might want to do that, I have no interest in it. RP is for fun times ^_^ The permissions form is half permission and half 'would you like to use Ardyn to create an interesting CR situation for you or help your character deal with a past issue using the illusions of characters Not On The Barge to aid in your character's growth". It's to help me figure out who's interested in this and who's not.

As mentioned in his app, he can draw on people's memories to manipulate the senses and make people see people etc, that they have once seen, complete with sound, smell, etc. If he disguises himself as your best friend, the only way you'd know he's not your best friend is his behavior or his speech patterns or wrong information, etc.

For the purpose of play (and because this helps promote RP instead of being weird and godmodey), I'm going to say that Ardyn has to LEARN about what he might draw on as opposed to being able to browse someone's memories like a window shopper and pluck 'one that is traumatic' from them at will. So he can't walk up to someone he's never heard of and doesn't know and appear like their best friend; he has to find out about who this person is and some about them before he could do such a thing and as noted in the app, he does have a time limit.

ETA: Just to clarify, he is NOT reading anyone's mind. He is reading their TIMELINE, their past. The ability is literally called 'a stitch in time' and uses memory as it's METHOD, like using old film to add characters into a movie when the actors are gone. And as mentioned above, he can't just browse and takes what he likes. He has to know exactly what he's looking for.

Some folks might think this is fun! Other folks might rather go through dental surgery. So here's the permission post for ths particular part of his abilities!

If you have NOT filled it out, I will take it as a firm 'DO NOT DO THE THING WITH MY CHARACTER' in all cases until I am told otherwise and, in that case, I may ask for you to fill it out to make sure that I have a record somewhere of your preferences (I have a memory of swiss cheese and I never want to meddle with people's play in an unwanted way). Feel free to ping in here with any questions, concerns, or to discuss plot where you might want to use his abilities for some reason.

Ideas: Ruby is basically a psychic, but she's also just a kid from a very broken world. She's had other psychics in her head, but she's also been fooled by some real dicks. There's a lot of vulnerability Ardyn could play on, but she'll be inherently distrustful since he looks older than like 21.

Limits: Not sure right off, will get back to you on this. It's usually a case-by-case basis with me, especially since she has so many triggers related to losing people she cares about and being utterly alone in her life.
Ideas: There's the issue of her deceased daughter that I always love to stab her with because I'm awesome like that. But she's had so many people in her life and so much happen that there's a lot to draw from.

Limits: Some of Laura's past deals with suicidal ideation; I'd prefer that this not be used without prior discussion.
Ideas: There is so much fodder here - the easiest ones would be those she's closest to like Logan (original flavor especially) or her sister Gabby, but for extra funtimes fuckery there's anyone from the Facility (her old handler, Kimura, basically tortured her on the regular and there's a lot of loose ends and rage there), or any innocents she was forced to kill (big one being her mother). Or like, impersonate Laura herself and make her think it's another clone/sister. Basically, GO NUTS. I love this stuff. (tbh I don't even mind if he goes poking around in her memories without necessarily knowing what to look for, or having just a vague idea.)

Limits: Odd Thomas has a resistance to mind meddling due to his own psychic powers. Not saying it can't be done, but it takes more effort.
Ideas: The best thing he can use against Odd is his dead fiancee Stormy. Anything involving her will be pretty terrible/fun.

Ideas: Man, there's all sorts of stuff. Shiro has a lot of interested nonsense from home. Stuff with Sorae or Rinichirou would probably be full of trauma though. :D

Additional note to include my other two characters, Cold and Tarkin. Hadn't before because they didn't have CR with Ardyn but doing it now just to be on the safe side.

I'm just gonna generally revoke with the continued goal of keeping these guys away from each other throughout the Shiro plot.

Adding on that I am 100% okay with her image being used against Shiro (and potentially other people). I think I'd just like to know about it so I know what may or may not be coming at Helen XD

I didn't see this before, so I want to A: generally consent to Ardyn fucking with Sara's head or using her illusion at some future point in time should we plot such a thing but also B: opt-out of any participation in the Shiro plot or any other that specifically involves gaslighting.

Does that make sense? Like, I don't know if that's all Ardyn ever does with his powers, or if there are other things. If there are other things, I'm game!
